odin - semma

Oh, Semma, how I love you.  Such an unexpected winner.  I can't even really describe it.  It just smells heavenly to me.  Spicy, fresh, cozy, delicious.  Thank you for stepping in to save the day after my horrible Lys Mediterranee experience.  Semma is so well-balanced, and so multifaceted, and every facet is perfection to me.  It's really the only non-bpal perfume I've experienced that makes me as happy as a good bpal scent does.  It's like Crowley but without the dirty musk element that goes so wrong on me.  It's probably my non-bpal holy grail.

frederic malle - lys mediterranee

I tried it for the hype.  It disappoints.

This opens with a lovely real lily smell, which is amazing because I love lilies but am deathly allergic to them.  Unfortunately, it quickly becomes a cheap beach scented candle or seashore glade plug in or ocean bathroom air freshener that would be at home covering up the smell of a massive poo.  This stuff must smell way better on other people to be sold for such an expensive price.  I had to go wash it off in the bathroom sink.  I can't remember the last time I had to do that.

It's a Casio on a plastic beach.  It's a styrofoam deepsea landfill.
